Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh province in northern Afghanistan
According to United Nations reports, more than two thousand Hazara citizens were killed by the Taliban in Mazar-i-Sharif in 1998. However, Human Rights Watch adds that the actual number of victims may be much higher. The Hazaras estimate this number to be close to ten thousand. The Hazara Genocide Archive team is striving to uncover the true number of victims of this genocidal massacre, but whether they will succeed or not is still unknown.
طبق گزارشات سازمان ملل متحد، بیشتر از دوهزار شهروند هزاره در سال ۱۹۹۸ میلادی در مزار شریف توسط طالبان به قتل رسیدند. البته دیده بان حقوق بشر علاوه می کند که تعداد واقعی قربانیان ممکن است بسیار بیشتر از این باشد. اما هزاره ها این عدد را نزدیک به ده هزار نفر تخمین می زنند.
تیم آرشیف نسل کشی هزاره ها تلاش دارد تا تعداد واقعی قربانیان این قتل عام نسل کشانه را کشف کند، اما موفق می شود یا خیر، هنوز چیزی نمی داند.
